Hitched with Kate

Kate White — Independent Wedding Celebrant

Every ceremony
written from scratch.

No recycled script, no rigid formalities. I meet you, listen to your story, and write the ceremony that only the two of you could have.

Getting hitched with Kate removes the worry and rigidity of formalities, replacing your concerns with stress-free harmony and a flexibility in structure. Every ceremony is unique, every couple’s narrative exclusive — and I do of course inject humour wherever I can.

What’s included

Leave it
to me.

A couple beneath a veil in an open field
  1. 01

    We meet, properly

Over a cup of tea. You tell me your tales of life and love; I listen for the details that make the ceremony yours rather than anyone else’s.

  2. 02

    Your script and vows

I write the whole thing from scratch, or guide you through writing your own. Nothing generic, nothing recycled, and last-minute changes are never a problem.

  3. 03

    Rituals, if you want them

Hand fasting, sand, rose or light ceremonies. Religious or diverse expressions woven in where they mean something to you.

  4. 04

    Rehearsal and the day itself

A run-through at the venue nearer the time, and me there on the day to officiate — keeping you relaxed and your guests engaged throughout.

Ceremonies

From a back garden to a manor house.

Weddings

Flamboyant and fun, or classic meets contemporary — anywhere from your back garden, a field or a tent to a manor house or hotel.

Renewal of vows

For the chapters that come after the first one. Same care, same bespoke script, written around the years you’ve already had together.

Elopements

Just the two of you, or a small handful of the people who matter most. Intimate, unhurried and entirely on your terms.

Hand fasting & rituals

Added to any ceremony. An old tradition, handled with the weight it deserves and none of the awkwardness.

Confetti thrown over a couple as they leave their ceremony

It’s your day.
Every chapter of it.

Whether you are love’s young dream, or this is the second — or third — time round, your day is just as special. As a third-time-lucky married woman I am well versed in life’s chapters.

I can write your story with a no-holds-barred approach, or quietly omit certain paragraphs. That’s your choice, and it always will be.

About Kate

A cup of tea,
and your story.

I’m Kate White, and I live in the beautiful surroundings of Suffolk with my husband, our grown-up daughter’s twins keeping us busy, and a little dog called Teddy who brings us enjoyment every day.

I came to celebrancy from a background in customer service and marketing. Fate led me here, and I’d like to think I have the personality and warmth the job asks for.

My wonderful job is to make your wedding day memorable: to connect with you, and to tell your love story wherever you choose to tell it — a back garden, a field, a tent, or a manor house.

You enjoy the bubbles. I’ll provide the sparkle.

In her words

What I love is that your sparkling personality comes across, along with your humour, enough for it to give you the best sense of fun — but it also gives you authority and gravitas and command. It doesn’t take over from the importance of the words nor the solemnity of the occasion. Your couple are front and centre and you tell their story with charm. It is so bespoke!

I loved your ad libs with the couple, showing your authority and kindness all at the same time. As for the vocal delivery — exceptional. It has light and shade, humour and pathos, pace and pauses, all managed to great effect.
It’s clear that you really enjoy the ‘performance’ element of celebrancy and you naturally soak up the spotlight, without stealing the limelight. That’s a tricky line to walk: in command without being overly commanding, compassionate and friendly without being over-familiar. This is a perfect balance.
You are looking so professional. The setting, and you, are absolutely immaculate, and your initial delivery really set the tone for a lovely service.
You are professional, uplifting, funny, full of pathos and confidence.

A barn ceremony aisle dressed with chair drapes, florals and candlelight by Events By Beau

Supplier spotlight

Someone I’d happily
point you to.

A ceremony is words. The room those words happen in is somebody else’s craft, and Events By Beau are very good at it.

Holly and her team hire out wedding decor across East Anglia and the East Midlands — ceremony arches, aisle runners, chair drapes, table styling, fresh and silk florals, and the lighting that makes a barn look like this at six o’clock. They set it up and they take it down, which is one less thing on your morning.
